EEG Brain Mapping

Non-Invasive EEG Brain Mapping

An objective measurement of your brain function

Why EEG Brain Mapping is so Important

  • Helps your therapist identify your neurological type of anxiety, depression, and/or attention disorder as well as any past head injury.
  • Empowers you and your loved ones to understand the physiological nature of your symptoms.
  • Identifies specific neurological and lifestyle interventions to help increase the effectiveness of your therapy sessions.
  • Provides a baseline to objectively measure your progress over time.

What is an EEG Brain Map?

An EEG brain map provides an objective picture of your brain activity.  It identifies specific regions of your brain that may be producing too much, or too little electricity compared to a normative database of your same age and gender.  A brain map takes less than an hour to record and is neither invasive nor painful.

How will a brain map help my therapist?

It provides your therapist with an objective tool to measure your brain function.  Without a brain map, a therapist relies solely on your symptoms and history.  It also helps direct the most effective interventions aimed at improving how your brain functions.  An EEG brain map can identify if your brain function is being affected by environmental factors, genetic factors, or due to post-concussion activity.  EEG biofeedback sessions (Neurofeedback) may be recommended to retrain your brain activity to an optimal astate.  These interventions can improve how your brain functions while your therapist is working with you on trauma treatment, behavioral and/or cognitive strategies.

Is there evidence supporting EEG Brain Mapping?

Yes, there are literally hundreds of research studies on EEG for a wide variety of clinical indications, including memory problems, anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, trauma, ADD and ADHD, traumatic brain injury (TBI), cognitive decline and processing issues.

Can I record a Brain Map even if I am currently taking medication?

Yes, continue to take your medications prescribed by your doctor.  We know how medications affect your brain map and can account for this when reviewing the results.
